Lindbergh Operation
The Lindbergh Operation, named in honor of AmericanaviatorCharles Lindbergh, was the first ever transatlantic surgery. In 2001DoctorsMichel Gagnerand Jacques Marescauxremoved the gall bladderof a 68-year-old womanin Strasbourg, Francefrom New York.
The surgeons used a ZEUSrobotic surgical system from Computermotion Inc.and an ATM fiber opticconnection provided by France Télécom.
