   * Allport, G.W. (1954). The nature of prejudice. New York: Doubleday.

Description: With this book, Gordon Allportput forth one of the most influential theories of prejudice reduction, known as the Contact Hypothesis. The basic idea behind the Contact Hypothesis is that increasing contact between members of different groups is the foundation for reducing intergroup hostility. This book is important for many other reasons as well, and is recommended reading for anyone interested in the areas of prejudice and discrimination.
