Ependyma
Ependyma is the thin epithelial membranelining the ventricular systemof the brainand the spinal cordcanal. Ependyma is one of four types of neuroglia, and is itself lined with epithelial cilia. It is involved in the production of the CSF. Jonas Frisen and his colleagues at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm believe that ependyma is the prime candidate for the location of neural stem cells.
