Developmental milestones
Developmental milestones are tasks most children can perform at certain ages. For example:
- Ability to lift and control the orientation of the head
- Crawlingbegins
- Walkingbegins
- Speechbegins
- Voicelowers in pitch (especially noticeable in boys)
- Pubic hairappears
- Genitalsand reproductive organs mature
- Mensesbegin (females)
- body hairand facial hairappears
Note: the Tanner stagescan be used to approximately judge a child's age based on physical development.
