Sex cord-stromal tumours are a group of sex cordovarian neoplasmswhich accounts for 8% of all reported cases.

This group consists of the neoplasticproliferations of:

  • granulosa(granulosa cell tumours)
  • theca(thecomas)
  • Sertoliand Leydigcells (Sertoli-Leydig cell tumours)
  • fibroblasts(fibroma)

These tumours tend to be functioning and, by producing estrogensor androgens, may have dramatic clinical presentations.

Almost all are unilateral.
