Sertoli-Leydig cell tumours are part of the sex cord-stromal tumourgroup of ovarian neoplasms.
The average age of patients with Sertoli-Leydig tumours is 25, and one-third present with virilization.
Masculinizationis preceded by oligomenorrhea, amenorrheaand defeminization.
This group of tumours is rare, comprising less than 1% of ovarian neoplasms.
Sertoli-Leydig cell tumours are subdivided into many different subtypes.
The most typical is composed of tubuleslined by Sertoli cellsand interstitial clusters of Leydig cells.
As a group, 25% of these tumours are malignant.
