CaBIG

caBIG is the Cancer BioInformatics Grid, a National Cancer Institute(USA) initiative to link cancer researchers and their data. The goal is semantic interoperability, meaning that data from each site can be recognized and understood by other sites. Currently this is not possible because each research site uses different data definitions and standards, making useful excchange difficult.
