Hepatic tumour
Hepatic tumours are tumoursor growths on or in the liver. These growths can be benign or malignant(cancerous), and may present in patients as an abdominal mass, hepatomegaly, abdominal pain, jaundice, or some other liver dysfunction.
Types
Hepatic tumours may be divided into benign and malignant. Benign tumours include hepatic hemangiomas, hepatic adenomas, and focal nodular hyperplasia(FNH).
Malignant hepatic tumours may be primary or secondary (metastatic). Metastatic disease is by far the most common hepatic malignancy, and usually originates from the lung, gastrointestinal tract, pancreas, breast, ovaries, uterus, kidney, gallbladderor prostate.
