Morning Glory syndrome

A congenital anomaly of the optic disk in which there is a funnel-shaped hypoplastic optic nerve, which has a dot of white tissue at the centre, surrounded by an elevated anulus of chorioretinal pigment. Reflection from within the eye may give the appearance of a white pupil. Vision in the affected eye is severely impaired. There is an increased risk of retinal detachment.
