Non-invasive virtual endoscopy has shown to be vastly superior to conventional analysis of contiguous 2D images. New interactive medical imaging applications are able to read and display 3D volumetric reconstructed Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Computer Tomography (CT) or Positron Emission Tomography (PET) cross-sectional images. The DICOM (Digital Imaging and Communications in Medicine) format defines a set of standards for handling, storing, printing, and transmitting information in medical imaging. MedView is a DICOM compatible digital medical imaging solution. It runs on PC (Win2000, XP).
