BIRDEM, the Bangladesh Institute of Research and Rehabilitation for Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders at Shahbag, Dhaka, Bangladesh is a 600-bed multidisciplinary hospital complex of the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh.BIRDEM has been recognized nationally and internationally as a centre of excellence for medical services and research. It has been designated as a WHO Collaborating Centre on Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders, as the only on of its kind in Asia. The late National Professor Md. Ibrahim is its founder.
